To place technical and scientific expertise at the disposal of companies in the biomedical sector, with a particular emphasis on the design, development and manufacture of new products.

To contribute to defining the criteria for conducting pre-clinical and clinical trials on biomedical products and technically assessing them based on H.C.T.A. principles and standards or other methods available within health care enterprises and the University.

To educate students in the Medicine and Surgery degree course and other degree courses in the area of health care in order to complete their knowledge, particularly with respect to biomedical technologies and their potential uses in clinical practice.
